About this event

Let’s Talk Biochar:

Blueberries, Soil Health and Community Resilience

Come learn about our upcoming three-year study of how biochar affects organic blueberry plantings, including its impacts on soil health and water retention, funded through WSDA’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. Over coffee and snacks, hear about the project, share your own experience with biochar, learn from neighbors and see a flame-cap kiln on display (no burn). Whether you farm, garden, buy local berries or just have questions, you’re welcome. This is the first in a series, with field days at the project’s research site in Rockport and a kiln demonstration at the Organic Farm School planned for 2027.

Hosted by the Organic Farm School with Kulshan Carbon Trust.

Listed by Kulshan Carbon Trust (Squarespace), gathered by the Marysville events calendar.
